Protecting Your Art

When you publish a book, you hand over more than a file. You hand over years of work, and you trust the platform holding it to treat that work like the asset it is. Most self-publishing platforms talk about reach and royalties. Very few talk about protection. We think that is backwards, so here is exactly what we do to guard your art.

Your files are locked away

The print-ready files for your book, the complete interior and the full cover, live in private, access-controlled storage. They are never sitting at a public web address waiting to be guessed. When our print partner needs your file to fulfill an order, we hand them a private, time-limited link created for that job and no other. When you download your own proof, same thing: a short-lived link made just for you, just then.

Every eBook copy is personally marked

This is the part we are proudest of. When a reader opens an eBook they purchased from your storefront, they do not receive the master file. They receive a copy prepared for them at that moment, and that copy carries their name on it:

• A license page inside the book states who the copy belongs to, with their order reference, and a note that sharing it hurts the author they are reading.
• An invisible fingerprint is woven into every copy we deliver. If a copy of your book ever surfaces somewhere it should not, we can trace it back to the exact purchase it came from.

That combination changes the math for anyone tempted to share a file. A pirated copy is no longer anonymous. It has a name on it, visibly and invisibly.

A reader built to discourage copying

eBooks purchased here are read in our built-in reader, and the reading surface itself is part of the protection. Text cannot be selected, copied, or printed out of it, and every page carries a faint, unobtrusive mark identifying the licensed owner. We will be straight with you: no technology on earth can stop someone from photographing a screen, and any platform that claims otherwise is selling you a story. What we can do is make sure that even a screenshot carries the owner's mark, so casual sharing stops being casual.

Protection is a promise, not a feature

This is the same thinking behind our human-authored guarantee. A bookstore that lets machine-generated knockoffs bury your work is not protecting you, no matter what its file security looks like. Here, your book competes with other books made by other people, sits in storage no stranger can reach, and travels only in copies that know who they belong to.
